When it came to my role as a hospital administrator, I was laser-focused in my determination, worked long hours and had a lengthy commute. I married later in life, and instead of going on a honeymoon, I opted for a destination wedding. I just couldn't be away from work for too long. In fact, I had accrued so much vacation time that when it was time for me to move onto my next career, I was paid for months.     Elaine was very patient with my wife and me. This was our first trip to Maui and turned out to be the best trip we ever had.
